On Business and up, Onyx Phone records the calls you answer, transcribes them, and writes a short summary of each, with what needs following up. You read the gist in call history instead of listening back to the whole call.
What you get for each call
They appear on the call in history, next to its notes, so whoever calls the customer back sees the whole story first.

Telling callers
Some US states require everyone on a call to agree to recording. When a line records calls, callers hear "This call may be recorded" before it rings, so they're told every time. Recording is switched on per line, so you can record the sales line and leave another alone.
Using the summaries
Summaries travel. Send them to your CRM or job system through Zapier, or ask Claude or ChatGPT what customers called about this week; they can read call summaries once connected.

Questions
Is it legal to record business calls?
Rules vary by state, and some require every party's consent. Onyx Phone plays a recording notice before the call rings so callers are told. Check the rules where you and your callers are.
Does Onyx Phone record every call automatically?
Only on lines where an admin turns recording on, and only answered calls. Voicemails are always recorded and transcribed, on every plan.
