Triggers
Each trigger fires once per call or text, the moment it happens, using Zapier's instant REST hooks. Every phone number comes in three formats, +16125550199, 6125550199, and (612) 555-0199, because CRMs and job systems match numbers exactly as they were typed.
- New Call: any call on a line ends, in or out, with direction, duration, outcome, and who answered.
- New Missed Call: an incoming call nobody picked up.
- New Voicemail: sent once the transcript is ready, so the words go with it.
- New Text: a customer texts one of your lines.

- Missed call to a Jobber request on the right client, with the voicemail transcript in the notes.
- Every call logged on the HubSpot contact's timeline.

Connecting
The Onyx Phone app is on its way into Zapier's public directory. Until it's listed, add it to your Zapier account with the invite link on the Integrations page, then connect it with an API key an account admin makes under Account, then API and Zapier. Keys are shown once, can be named and revoked, and revoking one removes its webhooks.
When Zapier isn't enough
The Onyx Phone API reads calls, voicemails, and texts and sends texts from your lines, and signed webhooks post to your own server. Texts sent through the API cost $0.01 per segment; everything else is included.
Getting started
- Create a login and pick a plan. Checkout saves a card for the 7-day free trial, and nothing is charged until it ends.
- Confirm your business and its 911 address, and get a local number on the spot. Bringing your own number? You answer on a temporary one while it moves over, for free.
- Choose where calls ring, write what callers hear, invite your team, and register for texting. Then answer in the browser, the iPhone and Android apps, or a desk phone. How it works has the details.
Included on every plan
Starter is $17, Business is $29, Scale is $42 per user a month, or less billed yearly. The plan includes a business number for each user and unlimited calling and texting in the US and Canada. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and moving your current number over is free.
Questions
Does the Zapier integration cost extra?
Not from Onyx Phone. It's included on every plan. Zapier charges for its own plans.
How quickly do Zaps run after a call?
The triggers are instant: Onyx Phone notifies Zapier the moment a call ends, a call is missed, a voicemail is transcribed, or a text arrives.
Is Onyx Phone in Zapier's app directory?
Not yet. Add it to your Zapier account with the invite link on the Integrations page until it is.
