Effective October 6, 2026. This describes the Onyx Phone product on this website. Have a lawyer read it before you treat it as your only legal agreement.
Who runs the site
Onyx Phone runs this website and the phone apps that sign in to it.
What we collect
- Account data you type: name, email, password, and business name. The password is stored as a digest.
- Billing identifiers from Stripe: customer, subscription, and whether the subscription is active. Card numbers are entered on Stripe’s page. We do not store the card number.
- Call data: the numbers on the call, direction, time, duration, status, notes you write, voicemail recordings, and a transcript when the phone network returns one.
- Outbound keypad calls recorded from answer, and the recording address for those calls.
- Message rows if a message is ever stored for a line. US texting is not offered yet.
- Phone-app device records used to ring Android, and the line assignments for each teammate.
- Notes sent through the contact form: name, email, business name, plan, and the message.
Why
To provide the line, ring the people assigned to it, show the call history, take payment, and reply to a note you sent. We do not sell this data.
Who else processes it
- Twilio places and receives the calls, stores recordings on their side, and can return a voicemail transcript.
- Stripe processes the subscription payment.
- Google Firebase is used so Android phones on a line can be woken for a call.
- Email for a voicemail goes through the mail server configured for this site, and only to an address saved on that line.
Who on your account can see it
Account admins can see the account’s lines. Teammates can see a line only when they are assigned to it. People you invite use their own login.
How long it stays
Call history and recordings stay if you cancel or if a payment fails. Outbound calling pauses. Use the contact form if you need a line or a recording removed.
