A business phone for contractors

General contractors, remodelers, roofers, and builders juggle homeowners, subs, suppliers, and inspectors on one phone. Onyx Phone gives the company a number of its own, routes calls to the right people, and keeps a record of who said what.

Route calls to estimators or the field

On Business, a phone menu sends new projects to the estimators' ring group and current jobs to the project managers. Transfers move a caller to the right person, and ring order tries the office before the field.

A record of every conversation

Call recording with AI summaries on Business captures what was agreed: change orders, delivery windows, the homeowner's color choice. Callers hear a recording notice first. Notes on each call keep the context for the rest of the team.

Keep personal numbers private

Project managers call homeowners from the business number on the iPhone and Android apps or in the browser, so a job doesn't follow them home and their cell isn't on every sub's list. When someone leaves, remove them and the number stays with the company.

Connect your project tools

Through Zapier, calls and voicemails can create requests in Jobber, contacts in HubSpot, or rows in a project spreadsheet.

Questions

Can I record calls with homeowners?

On Business and Scale, yes, on lines where you turn recording on. Callers hear "This call may be recorded" first. Check consent rules in your state.

What happens to the number when a project manager leaves?

The number belongs to the company. Remove the person from the team and they lose access to every line.
